They Are Not Escargot: Do Not Eat Garden Slugs

One might make the assumption that slugs might be edible, like the high cuisine escargot. They are not. At least, the raw ones are unfit for human consumption but the same could be said for escargot which must be 'purged' of stomach contents and 'gutted' prior to cooking.

Still, I could probably manage to eat escargot that I knew was prepared by a chef. But a common garden slug? -No way!
